Longroad Energy is developing the proposed Sun Streams Expansion Gen-Tie Project (Project) which includes a new substation and an approximately 5-mile gen-tie that will connect the Sun Streams Expansion Solar and Storage Project to the regional grid at the existing Chukar Substation. The Project will transmit renewable energy from the proposed Sun Streams Expansion Solar and Storage Project to the regional transmission grid. The storage component will also provide ancillary grid services which will support system reliability.
Longroad filed an application for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility (CEC) with the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) on August 2, 2022. There will be a public hearing with the Arizona Power Plant and Transmission Line Siting Committee beginning on Monday, September 19, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. and continuing on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, Wednesday, September 21, 2022, and Thursday September 22, 2022, as necessary, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on each day through the completion of the hearing. The hearing will be held at the Hampton Inn and Suites Phoenix-Goodyear, 2000 N Litchfield Rd, Goodyear, AZ 85395. Public comment will be taken in a special evening session on Monday, September 19, 2022, beginning at 5:30 PM., via telephone, zoom, or in person at the Hampton Inn and Suites Phoenix-Goodyear.
