The Financial Planning Analyst will be responsible for supporting the preparation and reporting of the annual operating plan at a fast-paced, rapidly growing renewable energy company.  The Financial Planning Analyst will play a key role in Longroad Energy’s monthly reporting process.  The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing the annual operating plan and provide analytics to measure the Company’s operating performance against that plan
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting and analysis for delivery to Longroad Management and external project stakeholders
  • Manage cash forecasting for various operating wind and solar projects
  • Participate in a robust forecasting process; identify key business risks and opportunities and improve forecasting accuracy where applicable
  • Provide internal and third-party customers with financial and/or business planning, reporting, forecasting and analysis
  • Work closely with the Accounting group to fulfill internal and external reporting requirements
  • Provide business analysis and ad-hoc financial modeling

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a financial/business analysis capacity with experience in preparing and coordinating budgets, forecasts and related reporting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering or a related field
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills; experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and management reporting

This position is intended to be a critical part of Longroad’s rapidly growing energy storage business.  The Manager, Energy Storage will be in the center of the execution of commercial, technical, and business development activities for Longroad’s energy storage business.  The position requires in-depth knowledge of energy storage technology and familiarity with the business case and risks associated with energy storage project deployment. Experience at a battery OEM, inverter OEM, energy storage integrator, BESS developer or EPC/consultant with energy storage expertise is important for fulfilling the requirements of this position.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be effective at working cross-functionally within Longroad as well as with outside vendors and stakeholders.  Most frequently, the position will work closely with Longroad’s development, origination and operations teams.

Development

  • Work closely with the company’s project development team in early-stage prospecting by providing storage expertise in market assessment and optimal site identification.
  • Support later stage development through site evaluation and dimensioning/dispatch modeling of BESS and hybrid BESS/renewable systems.
  • Engage and lead efforts with third party consultants as needed to provide incremental analytical value.

Origination

  • Support the origination team in RFP responses for BESS projects with regard to BESS technical aspects – dimensioning, use cases, etc.
  • Work collaboratively between internal origination and finance teams along with external supply vendors to appropriately specify project requirements for quoting.
  • Be a key interface with suppliers of energy storage systems in the design, bidding and execution of energy storage projects including reviewing supplier proposals and driving a deep understanding of supplier offerings.
  • Support PPA negotiations as a BESS subject matter expert to properly align terms with financing requirements and supplier proposals.

Operations

  • Collaborate with the company’s EPC team as well as other in-house and external functional experts during project execution to help manage.
  • Ongoing engagement with energy storage vendors to ensure compliance with all contract requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience at an energy storage manufacturer or within the energy storage supply chain, at a consultancy specializing in energy storage or with a project developer involved in designing and deploying standalone or paired energy storage systems

The Sr. Associate, Financial Reporting is responsible for leading the preparation of all GAAP financial statements and will support the Director of Financial Reporting and Chief Accounting Officer in the analysis of technical accounting issues. This role is primarily responsible for (i) preparation of financial statements and other financial information presented to management, investors, lenders, analysts, and other parties and (ii) preparation of technical accounting memos and position papers.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes for consolidated entities as well as subsidiary and third-party stand-alone statements. This includes compiling and maintaining all supporting documentation.
  • Work with various personnel and departments to collect information and input into the above referenced reports; coordinate, review and collect comments on the various drafts; prepare support files; challenge the appropriateness of disclosures; complete all relevant disclosure checklists and reporting questionnaires.
  • Work with project accountants to ensure reporting deadlines are met on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with technical accounting research and documentation of new policies and procedures including the monitoring of emerging accounting and reporting rules being deliberated by the SEC, US GAAP, PCAOB or other regulations.
  • Preparation of pro forma financial statements in support of financing transactions.
