Job Purpose

This position will work as part of the fast-paced accounting team in Longroad Energy’s corporate offices in Boston.  The Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting responsibilities including but not limited to bank reconciliations, assisting in preparation of project monthly financials, balance sheet analysis, month-end close process and design and generate financial and analytical reports.  This person will be available to work on ad hoc requests and assist the accounting team with various projects and tasks.  The Accountant must have a strong grasp of generally accepted accounting principles. 

Responsibilities

  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations using automation
  • Assist in the preparation of the project monthly operating report
  • Conduct balance sheet analysis and reconciliation
  • Assist with month-end close process for a portfolio of assets
  • Generate journal entries requiring judgment and analysis
  • Work with external auditors
  • Assist with special projects
  • Record revenues in accordance with contractual obligations related to energy production for each facility
  • Maintain the full ledger for the portfolio of operating assets (book & tax)
  • Record the necessary month-end transactions related for the portfolio

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with a strong GPA
  • Thorough understanding of internal accounting controls
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, functions, practices, and procedures within the accounting function
  • Exceptional PC and Excel skills (essential)
  • Proficient in MS Office

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of ad hoc assignments working directly with senior management

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4 Years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • Exceptional PC and MS Office Excel skills (essential)

Job Purpose

This position will work as part of the fast-paced accounting team and be responsible for a variety of accounting responsibilities including A/P invoice entries.   

Responsibilities

  • Processing of AP Invoices to correct general ledger accounts and company codes
  • Responsible for obtaining invoice approval and tracking unapproved invoices
  • Maintain support for invoices and any disputed amounts
  • Post manual payments to AP invoices
  • Assist with special projects in accounting or other areas
  • Serve as back up for processing of expense reports
  • Assist with 1099 reporting

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of accounts payable experience
  • Thorough understanding of internal accounting controls
  • Exceptional PC and spreadsheet skills (essential)
  • Proficient in MS Office 2007/ Excel 2007
  • Consistently meets strict deadlines

The Sr. Associate, Financial Reporting is responsible for leading the preparation of all GAAP financial statements and will support the Director of Financial Reporting and Chief Accounting Officer in the analysis of technical accounting issues. This role is primarily responsible for (i) preparation of financial statements and other financial information presented to management, investors, lenders, analysts, and other parties and (ii) preparation of technical accounting memos and position papers.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes for consolidated entities as well as subsidiary and third-party stand-alone statements. This includes compiling and maintaining all supporting documentation.
  • Work with various personnel and departments to collect information and input into the above referenced reports; coordinate, review and collect comments on the various drafts; prepare support files; challenge the appropriateness of disclosures; complete all relevant disclosure checklists and reporting questionnaires.
  • Work with project accountants to ensure reporting deadlines are met on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with technical accounting research and documentation of new policies and procedures including the monitoring of emerging accounting and reporting rules being deliberated by the SEC, US GAAP, PCAOB or other regulations.
  • Preparation of pro forma financial statements in support of financing transactions.
  • Support the implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Maintenance and update of consolidated reporting structures in the company’s accounting system, along with preparation/oversight of partnership income allocations (HLBV).
  • Assisting with audit requests from the external audit team, facilitating timely delivery of requested items and resolution of issues as they arise.
  • Assist with month-end close and financial statement review.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in external financial reporting in a complex organization with consolidations.
  • 2 years audit experience.
  • Up to date with current U.S. GAAP with strong technical accounting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dependable, consistent and very detail oriented.
  • Strong computer skills in general, and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

  • CPA designation or actively pursuing.

  • 2 years audit experience.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • Up to date with current GAAP (including ASC 606 and ASC 842).
